The first blogs were public personal journals. I believe that is what a blog ought to be, a personal journal that everyone who is interested can read if they desire to do so.

I believe that is the approach that I shall use for this blog from now on.

I have discovered over the past 10 years or so that it doesn’t really matter what a blogger writes on his or her blog because there will always be a few people — usually a damned few — who actually pay attention to individual blogs … and that might be because there are millions of them available on the web these days.

It is my opinion that anyone who writes a blog and who can garner a few faithful readers is lucky indeed and I am one lucky dog because I have a few more-than-wonderful readers who are special and who are actually highly-treasured by me.

So let me start the personal journal adventure by revealing to the wide wide world that I made mulligan stew for dinner today and it was wonderful. I used to eat this kind of stuff when I was bankrupt and out on the streets, penniless and homeless back in the late 1970s.

  1. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stew, John. Just keep blogging the way you do, and don’t worry too much about who reads it. You are leaving a personal legacy online, and that’s the real heart of blogging.
    Best wishes, Pete.
